"Providing food assistance to families and individuals in need"

Manna Pantry is a food resource center feeding the hungry in Canadian County. It is a non-profit community service proudly supported by local churches, businesses, and individuals.  With a volunteer staff, the Manna Pantry began in 1975 and has a 45-year history of collecting and distributing food in the Yukon community. As a non-profit organization we rely on donations for all our funding. We receive donations of both money and food to meet the needs of the clients we serve.

In the year 2020 the Manna Pantry provided 2 weeks of groceries for 3200 families (over 10,000 adults and children) in our community. Due to the current world events, the need is increasing. The Manna Pantry Food Resource Center served 565 new families.  This represents 1791 of our friends and neighbors, that have never sought assistance from us in the past, that now struggle with food insecurity.

Ways to serve at the Manna Pantry

Our consistent need is for donations, volunteers, and awareness.

  • Donations - money, food, supplies (paper sacks, egg cartons, etc.)

  • Volunteers - serving weekly, once a month, or for special events

  • Awareness - We also encourage schools to spread awareness of those with food insecurity in our community and the help available through our food resource center.

Volunteer positions include:

  • Receptionist – greets clients and explains eligibility process

  • Sorting/Stocking – primary job duties include stocking shelves, sorting produce, rotating stock, and ensuring the back room is clean and organized.

  • Client Intake– assist clients one-on-one. This is a trained position

  • Personal Shopper – assist clients through shopping experience, explaining the processes

  • Retail Pick-up Driver – drive to locally assigned retailers and pick up donations in designated area.
